The City of Brownsville Police Department is seeking a Police Chief, this exceptional law enforcement executive will inherit a department that is financially strong, operationally stable, technologically advanced, and deeply respected by both its employees and the community. Qualified candidates will possess:
- Twenty (20) years of progressively responsible commissioned law enforcement experience
- Seven (7) years of executive or command-level leadership experience
- Demonstrated success leading a full-service law enforcement organization
- Experience with budgeting, strategic planning, labor relations, and organizational development
- Experience working within Texas civil service and collective bargaining environments is highly desirable
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Master Peace Officer Certification
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Graduation from a nationally recognized executive law enforcement leadership program such as the FBI National Academy, LEMIT Leadership Command College, FBI-LEEDA, IACP Leadership in Police Organizations, or equivalent.
Salary : $168,000 - $214,000
