Position Summary
Are you interested in creating memorable events, spaces and keeping facilities running smoothly? The Recreation & Parks Department is currently recruiting applicants to fill temporary/seasonal positions up to 40 hours a week to assist in the day-to-day maintenance work at the Edinburgh Tavern. Opportunities are available at a variety of skills and levels from unskilled to skilled laborers. This active position moves and maneuvers tables and chairs and demands the ability to pivot tasks as needed to meet customer needs.

Payrates:- If age 18 and no driver's license, pay is $15.91-$20.16/hour.
- If age 18 with drivers license, pay is $16.88-$21.53
NOTE: The eligible list created from this exam may be used to fill other Maintenance positions as they become available within the City.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and tear down event spaces for weddings, meetings, banquets, and community programs
- Perform light janitorial and cleaning duties to keep facilities guest-ready
- Assist with general maintenance, groundskeeping, and building upkeep
- Provide excellent customer service to patrons and work collaboratively with staff
- Support other Recreation & Parks duties as needed — every day is different!
- Other tasks as assigned
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Education
High school graduate
Experience
18 years of age or older
Licenses/Certifications
Valid driver's license
Equivalency
An equivalent combination of education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in event setup, facility maintenance, or janitorial work
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications
- Previous experience working with people from various cultural, socioeconomic, racial and ethnic backgrounds
- Fluency in Spanish, Hmong, Russian, Somali or Lao, Vietnamese language(s)
Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 10 to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, stooping, kneeling, climbing
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, possibly hazardous
- Work is performed in various conditions, indoor temperature controlled and outdoor in various weather conditions

Positions are temporary/seasonal positions that will work up to 40 (forty) hours per week. Work shifts are flexible and include evenings and weekends
Anticipated Hiring Wage: $15.91 - $21.53 hourly, depending on qualifications and team equity

Vacation
- New employees generally earn 10 days of vacation per year
