Job Description
The Administrative Assistant II is responsible to answers all incoming phone calls, greets all customers at counter and determines which agent to direct inquiries. The AAII is also responsible for screening applicants for Chapter 115 either on phone or at counter as well as entering monthly medical benefits in OnBase.
SALARY: $47,731 - $61,221 annually
Commensurate with experience Step Salary System to be awarded annually on the anniversary date of hire and would typically start at Step I. Please note, the salary range indicated is firm.
Bargaining Unit: BCHASA

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AT HIRE
Education and Experience: Associate's Degree in Business or an equivalent journeyman's level of trade knowledge; a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of office/secretarial experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
The work environment involves everyday discomforts of a municipal office subject to frequent interruptions. Noise or physical surroundings may be distracting, but conditions are generally not unpleasant.

- Responsible for purchase of department supplies and ensures office equipment is functioning properly
- Process purchase orders, department payroll and veterans' reimbursements.
- Assists with planning parades for Memorial and Veterans Day
- Assists in placing flags on 10,000 veteran's graves for Memorial Day.
- Maintains Certification records for agents and self with EOVS;
- Maintains SHINE certification;
- Keeps track of hours Veterans work for Property Tax Work off program
- Processes monthly AP check run.
- Maintains all client files and reviews for outdated materials.
- Performs similar or related work as required, as situation dictates or as assigned by the Director.

- Ability to interact effectively and appropriately with the public and other personnel, perform multiple tasks and maintain confidential information
- Ability to acquire knowledge of laws and regulations pertinent to position functions
- Ability to learn municipal accounting programs
- Proficient computer skills, mathematical skills, recordkeeping and clerical skills, written and oral communication skills; proficient customer service skills
