Position Summary
Summer is quickly approaching and our Parking Compliance Officers are looking for some extra help during our busiest season! Spend your summer outdoors, staying active and making a real impact in the community. As a Parking Compliance Short-Term Worker, you’ll explore the downtown district, issue citations for parking violations, educate the public, and help keep things running smoothly. No experience? No problem! This is an entry level position complete with paid training and a supportive team. This summer gig is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, fresh air, and interacting with the public!
Wage: $25/hourly
Work Week: Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, up to 40 hours per week. Some occassional events on the weekend that will be scheduled with plenty of prior notice.
Assignment Details: Not to exceed 90 working days or 520 hours, whichever comes first.
Ideal Length of Season: Mid-May through Late-August, with some flexibility depending on candidate availability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Issues parking citations for violations against parking regulations using various types of software.
- Informs the public about parking options and offers general information about Bozeman.
- Utilizes City vehicles to issue citations and respond to complaints.
- Arranges for towing and/or booting of vehicles, maintains appropriate logs and reports for all vehicles towed and/or booted, and makes required notification to registered owners.
- Responds to and investigates parking complaints including preparing proper documentation in reports of investigation and actions taken.
- Responds to citizens’ questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
- Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities.
- Performs other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid Class D Driver’s License.
- Offers for employment are conditional upon satisfactory completion of the pre-employment process including, but not limited to a driving record history check, criminal background check, thorough reference checks, NCIC/CJIN and local records check.

- Ability to operate a personal computer using standard or customized software applications appropriate to assigned tasks.
