What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utilities Service Worker position at City of Bowie, Maryland?
The City of Bowie is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Utilities Service Worker. This position duties include assisting in the operation of sewer cleaning and TV inspection of sewer lines, along with the repair of sewer lines and water mains. The Utilities Service Worker will assist with installation of water meters, fire hydrants and storm drains in need of repair. The incumbent must be able to climb ladder, enter and exit sewer and storm drain manholes and meter vaults. Knowledge of confined space guidelines and ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions is required. Availability for overtime work for water main breaks, sewer blockages or other emergencies is a must.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED
- Six (6) months of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver’s license
PAY RATE: $19.22 PER HOUR
