City of Boone Public Works Street Department Laborer

The City of Boone currently has 2 open positions as a Street Department Laborer. The Street Department primarily works with, but is not limited to street patching, signage, snow removal, traffic painting, operating equipment, assist with water and sewer main repairs, trims trees in the right of way, and performs many maintenance related tasks throughout the City of Boone. A copy of the job description, and application can be obtained at the City of Boone Public Works office located at 1410 8th St. Ideal Candidate will have prior work experience with equipment, knowledge of mechanical components of many types of equipment, and the ability to work in all weather conditions. Minimum requirements include High School diploma, or GED equivalent. Possession of a Class B Iowa Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes, or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire; must possess a Category 8 Spray License (mosquito spraying) or the ability to obtain within one year after hire.
