What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Employment Intern position at City of Boise?
This position is open to youth 14 to 19 years of age who are currently enrolled in a formal high school education program, or its equivalent.
Hours per Week
8-19 hours per week. The schedule will include working weekdays after school and occasional weekends.
Assist staff and program supervisor with Youth Recreation Program activities. Supervision of youth 8-12 years of age during an after-school program; prepare educational and recreational supplies prior to activities; assist with the maintenance and cleaning of a neighborhood community center; other duties as assigned.
This individual must be a minimum of 14 years of age and currently enrolled in a formal high school education program or its equivalent. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening, and possess (or be able to obtain) a CPR/First Aid certification. This position requires the ability to interact with the public and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner. Employees must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
Superior Candidates
The superior candidate will have 1 year of experience working with elementary-age youth.
