General Statement of Job
The Golf Shop Sales Associate is responsible for providing excellent service to all golf course patrons. The Associate performs intermediate duties relative to the daily operation of the golf shop that includes but is not limited to operating a point-of-sale system, managing tee times and related registrations, collecting fees and merchandise sales, and assisting with food and beverage sales as needed. The Associate performs related work as required under the supervision of the Golf Operations Supervisor. This position is required to work a combination of morning and afternoon/evening shifts on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The Associate may be scheduled up to 25 hours per week (3 shifts).

Physical Demands
Must be able to stand for more than two hours at a time, stoop and bend, use manual dexterity or fine motor skills, have the ability to distinguish colors, proofread and check documents for accuracy, use a video display terminal, work in a normal office environment with few physical discomforts, work in an area that is someone uncomfortable due to drafts, noise levels, temperature variation, odors or the like, lift and carry articles weighing up to 20 lbs., and push articles weighing up to 50 lbs.

- Provides excellent customer service
- Greets and welcomes customers
- Opens and closes facility
- Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous, timely manner
- Provides golf course information to the public on phone and in person
- Operates point-of-sale system (POS)
- Registers golfers according to tee time schedule and collects fees from patrons
- Manages daily tee sheets using Club Caddie software
- Arranges tee time requests by phone when necessary
- Assists in unpacking and displaying of inventory,
- Assists customers with and accurately processes merchandise sales
- Issues rental golf equipment as needed
- Executes efficient and accurate money handling
- Proficient in all golf course policies (Golfer classifications, rainchecks, refunds, lightning safety, equipment rental, dress code, etc.)
- Assists customers with food and beverage sales when necessary
- The game of golf and/or golf course operations
- Retail sales and inventory control
- Cash register operations and point of sale systems (POS)
- Basic math functions
- Time management.
