What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Swim Team Coach position at City of Blue Ash, Ohio?
The City of Blue Ash is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Swim Team Coach to lead our Summer Swim Team at the Blue Ash Recreation Center. This highly visible leadership role oversees operations of our seasonal team, which practices in our new, beautiful outdoor 25-meter pool and includes approximately 200-220 swimmers each summer. The swim team participates in the N.S.S.L (Northern Suburban Swim League) competing against other community swim teams including Evendale, Sharonville, Springdale, etc. The season runs from mid-May (tentative due to pool construction) through late July, with practices held on weekday mornings and swim meets held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
As the Head Coach, you will set the tone for the season—cultivating a positive, energetic, and inclusive environment where swimmers can develop their skills, build confidence, and have a rewarding summer experience. You’ll manage and lead three assistant coaches, collaborate with the parent board, and create a structured, organized program that supports swimmers of all abilities.
This is a seasonal, part-time position ideal for coaches who are passionate about team building and leading a well-established community program. - Prior experience as a head coach or assistant coach
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to work independently
- Experience developing and implementing organization and structure to a swim team
- Knowledge of working with a parent board, committees and paid staff
- Experience motivating all levels of swimming ability in addition to teaching basic and advanced stroke technique
