The City of Bloomington's Engineering Division is seeking individuals to work during the 2026 summer as Engineering Interns. We have openings in the following areas:
- Two openings in Construction Inspection
- Two openings in Traffic
- Two openings in Survey
Schedules will vary. Individuals will work either 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the possibility of overtime, depending on the position.
- Perform survey work with electronic instruments
- Perform field inspection
- Check materials for conformance to specification
- Perform traffic counts and studies
- Communicate with the public
- Preparing plans and maps with computer-aided drafting and GIS
- Various office tasks
Minimum Qualifications
2025 Wage Range: $20.24 hourly- Completion of one academic year of a four-year Engineering/Surveying Degree program or completion of one academic year of a two-year Civil Engineering/Survey technical school certificate program
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Full Time Temporary/Seasonal 40-hour per week position, Non-exempt; Non-Union; Benefits Ineligible
