Work hours and workdays will vary depending on class schedule but days and hours worked are anticipated to be between 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Essential Duties
- Operate: Assisting with basic plant operations to understand treatment basics, basic laboratory skills, pump operations, and workflows
- Work Order Completion: Executing assigned work orders to gain hands-on experience with maintenance tasks
- Instrumentation: Gaining an understanding of instrumentation used in the water treatment plant, distribution and collection systems, with training on basic operations, maintenance, and monitoring practices. This exposure would help the intern learn how instrumentation supports system monitoring and control, ensuring efficient plant and distribution operation.
- Winter Maintenance: Helping with tasks such as upflow maintenance and slaker maintenance
- Hauling Grit: Supporting grit removal tasks to keep systems running smoothly
- Painting & Cleaning: Performing grinding, painting, general cleaning, and upkeep to maintain the plant’s appearance and safety
- General Maintenance: Participating in routine equipment and facility maintenance
- Ground Maintenance: Assisting with outdoor upkeep, including weed removal, snow removal, and general groundskeeping
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current High School student
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
