Description
This position is responsible for supervising and participating in the maintenance of the Bismarck Airport.
## Examples of Duties
Supervises and participates in the repair and maintenance of the airfield, including runways, taxiways, ramps, airfield lighting, airfield signage, and safety areas, etc.
Supervises and maintains Airport grounds, including sewer systems, trees, roadways, street lighting, and signage
Supervises and participates in mowing operations; operates mowers, tractors, sprayers, specialty equipment, etc.
Supervises and participates in snow removal operations; operates snowplows, snow brooms, sand trucks, de-icing equipment, etc.
Supervises and participates in the repair and maintenance of airport equipment and vehicles; maintains engine systems, electrical systems, transmissions, brakes, etc.
Supervises and participates in the repair and maintenance of airport jet bridges, and associated equipment.
Supervises and participates in the repair and maintenance of airport buildings and building systems, including baggage belts, fire doors, electric motors, HVAC systems, electrical systems, etc.
Maintains repair and maintenance records for equipment, vehicles, facilities, and systems.
Prepares work orders related to the repair and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, facilities, grounds and for airline or other external agency property.
Installs and maintains communications equipment.
Locates, orders, and fabricates parts for Airport maintenance department.
Maintains parts and supply inventory for Airport maintenance and operational activities; reorders as needed.
Develop specifications and assists with the procurement of equipment, systems and facilities.
Trains, assigns, directs, supervises, evaluates and disciplines personnel.
Insures calibrations and certifications of deice trucks, and bowmonks, owned by Airport.
Fills in for maintenance manager as needed when absent.
Performs related duties.
## Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possess a valid North Dakota drivers license by date of hire and Class B license with air brake endorsement within six months of hire.
Must comply with USDOT drug/alcohol screening requirements.
Must meet and maintain qualifications pursuant to 49 CFR Part 1542 (Unescorted Access Authority).
