What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal - Adult Basketball Scorekeeper/Clock Operator position at City of Billings?
Salary Range: $14.00 – $16.00/hour
Work Schedule:
Sunday - Thursday (2-3 days per week)
As a City of Billings Parks, Recreation and Public Lands Scorekeeper, you will serve the department’s sports programs by providing scorekeeping duties during select activities. Applicant must be familiar with the rules and bylaws of the respective sport and have the ability to operate timing devices and/or the official scorebook for the designated sport. You must have the ability to quickly evaluate information and make decisions and judgement calls. Applicant must be able to resolve conflicts and stay calm while handling disputes. Applicants must work well with children and adults.
Work Schedule:
Sunday - Thursday (2-3 days per week)
- Weekdays (Monday - Thursday): 6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
- Sundays: 3:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
- 2-3 games per night.
- Season runs January 4th – March 26th

- Professional behavior before and after sporting events
- Operate scoreboard and/or timing device for designated sport
- Perform routine clerical and technical work keeping score sheets and/or time clock
- Communicate with coaches and umpires/referees
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Knowledge of basketball rules and bylaws preferred
- Professional, confident, and capable of dealing with players, parents, officials, and fans
- Reliable transportation to and from games
