The City of Billings Parks, Recreation, and Public Lands is seeking twenty (20) qualified Adult Basketball Officials to ensure safe, fair, and enjoyable gameplay for all participants. Officials are responsible for enforcing the rules, maintaining control of the game, and fostering a professional environment for players and staff. This role requires strong decision-making skills, confidence, and the ability to work well with adult participants in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Rate: $36.00 -- $42.00 per hour based on experience and Montana Officials Association (MOA) status.
Twenty (20) Positions Available.
Work Schedule
Games: Monday -- Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
Shifts: 3 - 4 games per night/day depending on the schedule.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Officiate adult basketball games while ensuring fair play and rule enforcement.
- Provide a safe, positive, and professional playing environment.
- Make clear, decisive, and accurate calls during gameplay.
- Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and Parks & Recreation staff.
- Remain composed and professional while resolving disputes.
- Arrive on time and prepare for all assigned games.
- Must meet minimum age requirements.
- Strong knowledge of basketball rules and prior officiating or playing experience preferred.
- Decisive, approachable, and reliable.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to handle disputes calmly.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Reliable transportation to and from games and training.
- MOA certification preferred (pay dependent on status).
