Position Overview
Pay Rate:
- $18.00 – $20.00 (DOE)
- 1 – 2 Positions Available
- 40 Hours/Week Max
- Monday through Thursday
- Mornings: 8:00 a.m. to 12: p.m.
- Evenings: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Position Overview: Do you have a passion for tennis and a knack for coaching? Ready to take on a rewarding role leading our community tennis programs and inspiring the next generation of players? Join our team as Tennis Supervisor and oversee the daily instruction and court operations for the City of Billings this summer. Tennis Supervisor work closely with Recreation staff and coaches to ensure lessons are engaging, instructors are supported, and the courts remain a positive environment for all skill levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily tennis lesson operations and on-site court management
- Schedule, supervise, and support the seasonal Tennis Instructor staff
- Ensure all USTA and Net Generation safety standards and lesson plans are enforced
- Assist with equipment inventory, court readiness, and facility oversight
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and participants regarding progress
- Maintain an organized, high-energy, and safe athletic environment
- Work collaboratively with Recreation leadership to grow tennis participation
- Provide excellent technical instruction and customer service to the public
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Strong leadership, public speaking, and communication skills
- Ability to manage a team of instructors and organize large group rotations
- Commitment to providing a fun, skill-focused experience for youth and adults
- Previous competitive playing or tennis coaching experience required
- Ability to work mornings and occasional evenings as needed. 25-40 hours per week
Additional Requirements:
- Must become Net Generation Certified (training provided)
- First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided if needed)
- USTA Certified preferred (training provided)
