What You’ll Do
- Protect & Serve: Respond to emergencies, patrol neighborhoods, and ensure the safety of residents, businesses, and visitors.
- Engage the Community: Use outreach and collaboration to create meaningful connections with residents, schools, and businesses.
- Investigate and Enforce: Prevent and investigate crimes, enforce laws, and prepare cases for court testimony.
- Develop Your Career: Access specialized assignments such as Detective, K-9 Handler, School Resource Officer, Motor Officer, SWAT, Drone Pilot, or Field Training Officer.
- Lead with Excellence: Uphold the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics while supporting the department’s mission to build the safest community through outstanding policing.

Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 20.5 years of age at the time of appointment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, or a lawful permanent resident.
- Must be able to meet physical standards.
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- College coursework or prior military experience.
- At least 36 semester units from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of four years of active duty in the U.S. Armed Services with an Honorable Discharge.
- Strong moral character, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
