What We Do

The mission of Human Resources is to be a collaborative and strategic partner, using fair and equitable practices to attract, hire, develop, support, and retain a highly qualified workforce, and to mitigate liability through effective loss prevention programs. The Human Resources Department is made up of the Workforce Administration and Development and Risk Management Divisions. The Workforce Administration and Development Division is responsible for Citywide recruitment and selection, organizational development, labor and employee relations, classification and compensation, employee leaves and benefits, and employee recognition and engagement. The Risk Management Division administers workers' compensation and general liability programs, insurance administration and liability claims management, safety and injury/illness prevention, employment-related ADA/interactive processes, and partners with the City Attorney's office in coordinating Citywide litigation. The Human Resources Department serves approximately 1000 full-time and part-time employees combined across 10 City departments.

Human Resources Analyst

This position is represented by the Management and Professional Employees Association and is covered by the negotiated terms and conditions of that Association's Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), a copy of which is located at www.beverlyhills.org/mou.

Selection Process

This recruitment is limited to 100 applications and will be considered closed once that number is reached.

Conviction History

As a finalist for a job, you will be contacted to schedule a fingerprinting appointment, and your fingerprints will be sent to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The resulting report of your conviction history (if any) will be used to determine whether the nature of your conviction (or arrest, in limited circumstances) conflicts with the specific duties and responsibilities of the job for which you are a finalist. Disaster Service Workers

All City of Beverly Hills employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the City requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.

Experience and Training

Experience

Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:

Three (3) years of increasingly responsible technical and/or professional experience performing human resources duties which has included recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, or related human resources function.

Training

Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field. A Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field is desirable.
