Instrumentation Technician – Wastewater Treatment Plant
City of Bethlehem, PA | Full-Time
Join the City of Bethlehem team and put your technical skills to work helping to maintain and improve our city’s essential infrastructure! We’re looking for a skilled Instrumentation Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and programming of advanced electronic instrumentation and SCADA systems at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
What You’ll Do:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electronic instrumentation, control systems, and SCADA hardware/software.
- Maintain and calibrate pH, chlorine, turbidity analyzers, meters, and transmitters.
- Diagnose issues with PLCs, circuit boards, and electronic components.
- Keep accurate maintenance and repair records; manage inventory and parts orders.
- Support and train staff on system use and maintenance.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
- Strong knowledge of electronic instrumentation, computer systems, and SCADA operations.
- Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams and troubleshoot software and hardware.
- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment, including outdoors and in varying conditions.
- Must pass a background check, physical, and drug screening.
