What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Service Officer position at City of Bethel, Alaska?
The Community Service Officer assists sworn Police Officers in daily operations and enforces the City's codes and ordinances. The CSO is responsible for serving court documents, to include subpoenas, summonses, warrants and restraining orders. The CSO conducts routine safety patrols, interacting with the general public and relaying problems to Dispatch. The CSO is responsible for maintaining work areas and equipment in a clean and professional manner.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or the equivalent Past work experience that demonstrates ability to work with the public. Valid Alaska Drivers' License Bilingual in the Yup'ik language highly desirable. First aid and CPR or EMT training is highly desirable. Public safety-related experience or training preferred.
Special Requirements
This position is one that engages with the public on a daily basis and is considered a public trust position. An applicant must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal records background check and a psychological exam to be considered for this position. An applicant must be able to obtain and maintain an Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) security clearance.
Miscellaneous Information
An individual in this position must be able to work holidays, weekends, and varying shifts up to 12 hour per day.
