What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant - Public Safety position at City of Bethel, Alaska?
The Administrative Assistant provides varied administrative assistance to the Department, in support of police, fire and dispatch operations to include confidential and special assignments. In addition to performing clerical tasks, the Administrative Assistant for Public Safety serves as record-keeper for the Public Safety and Transportation Committee, attending after-hours scheduled meetings, posting minutes and agendas, and preparing meeting minutes for approval. The Administrative Assistant for Public Safety serves as the Records Custodian for the Department. The Administrative Assistant for Public Safety also serves as the Transportation Inspector in accordance with Bethel Municipal Code 5.20.010 (Q).
Qualifications
High School Diploma or the equivalent Two (2) years administrative support experience Valid Alaska Drivers' License or the ability to travel between City buildings as needed
Special Requirements
This position is considered a public trust position. An applicant must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal records background check to be considered for this position. AN applicant must be able to obtain and maintain an Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) security clearance.
Miscellaneous Information
This position requires monthly attendance at a pre-scheduled evening committee meeting.
