Position Summary
The Finance Clerk provides clerical and accounting support to the Finance Department by assisting with accounts payable, cash receipts, records management, customer service, and business licensing. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to provide professional customer service while maintaining accurate financial records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable by entering vouchers and verifying W-9 documentation.
- Post daily cash receipts accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain accounting records by copying, filing, scanning, and electronically attaching documents.
- Provide courteous and professional assistance to residents, customers, and other visitors.
- Assist with processing and maintaining business licenses.
- Perform general clerical and administrative duties in support of the Finance Department.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with accounts payable, cash receipts, bookkeeping, or general accounting is preferred.
- Associate degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and office procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and procedures.
- Flexible and adaptable in a changing work environment.

Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Accounting or a related field preferred; or
- Equivalent combination of education and accounting or finance experience.
