Beloit Public Library seeks a Library Service Specialist II – Resources to support the detailed, behind-the-scenes work that keeps library materials organized, accessible, and ready for patrons.
This position is responsible for processing and cataloging library materials, maintaining accurate bibliographic records, and coordinating Interlibrary Loan requests and returns. Additional responsibilities may include acquisitions functions, authority control, serials and periodicals, mending and discarding materials, supply ordering, and reclassification projects.
Library Service Specialist II – Resources requires a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and the ability to manage routine, highly detailed work independently. This position also provides customer service at Library Service Points and assists customers with Library resources, services, and technology. The successful candidate will be able to organize and prioritize work, respond to changing demands, demonstrate initiative, and work cooperatively with customers and coworkers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience.
- Minimum of one year of library experience or experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and organize and prioritize detailed work.
- Ability to respond to varied and changing work demands and demonstrate initiative.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide courteous and effective customer service.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Ability to perform moderately heavy physical work, including regularly handling library materials and pushing or pulling loaded carts.
