What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy City Clerk-Treasurer position at City of Beloit?
This position performs responsible and specialized clerical work involved in the custody and filing of official city records, application and issuance of licenses and permits, assists in the administration of elections and voter registration. Additionally assists with utility billing/general billing collections, preparing annual tax bills, processing and collecting special assessments. Position requires being the staff representative to City Council, Alcohol Beverage License Control Committee and/or Board of Review.
Qualified candidates will be expected to have creative, problem-solving approach and well-developed interpersonal communication skills and an ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with staff, elected and appointed officials, government agencies, service and community organizations, private business and the general public.
- A valid driver’s license or otherwise meet the transportation needs of the position.
- Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration or a related field.
- Five (5) years of responsible professional experience in a professional work environment in a complex organization in the field of accounting or finance, preferably in a government setting.
- Two (2) years of work experience in a municipal clerk’s office or similar setting; experience in election administration or alcohol license administration, is highly desired.
- Certified Wisconsin Municipal Clerk (WCMC), or ability to become certified within three years of hire.
- Certified Wisconsin Municipal Treasurer (CMTW), or ability to become certified within three years of hire.
- Wisconsin Notary Public or ability to obtain status within six months of hire.

Salary : $64,453 - $80,538
