EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I - SOLID WASTE functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Operational Duties:
- Drive sanitation vehicle, collecting waste and recyclables.
- Efficiently pick up solid waste along assigned routes.
- Transport refuse to the landfill, following designated routes.
- Solid Waste Management:
- Operate trucks for the collection and transportation of debris to the city landfill.
- Perform tasks related to trash collection, ensuring the proper disposal of waste.
- Assist in recycling and disposal-related tasks.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform daily inspections and safety checks on assigned vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including vehicle checklists, trip logs, and repair reports.
- Compliance and Policies:
- Follow City and departmental rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Report to work free from the influence of drugs, controlled substances, or alcohol.
- Emergency Response:
- Essential personnel may be on 24-hour call-out for emergencies.
- Work overtime, including during emergencies, to provide essential services.
- Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 1 year of previous relevant work experience is required.
Supervisory: No previous supervisory experience is required.
Certifications/Licenses: Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License
Salary : $22 - $26
