The City of Belfast is accepting applications for the position(s) of full-time and per diem Paramedic/Firefighter and Advanced EMT/Firefighter. These are skilled Firefighting and EMS positions consisting of EMS responsibilities, both Emergency and non-emergency, as well as combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires. These roles involve responding to a wide range of fire suppression and medical emergencies to ensure the stability and safety of our community.
The successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and possess and maintain a valid State of Maine Class C operator's license. A Fire or EMS-related Associate Degree, and a Maine EMT-A or Paramedic license are preferred. Candidates with AEMT who intend to obtain a Paramedic qualification are encouraged to apply. Additionally, a State of Maine Firefighter I/II certification is desired, including SCBA certification. Detailed job descriptions with certification requirements are available on our website. Schedules include rotating shifts of up to twenty-four hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check and physical exam upon receiving a conditional offer.

Pay grade is dependent upon qualification level and experience. City of Belfast now hiring! Paramedic & AEMT/Firefighter - Base hourly rates: Firefighter/AEMT - $25.84; /Paramedic - $28.37. 3.1% COLA effective July.
