Performs basic semiskilled work carrying out a variety of mechanical repair tasks such as testing, inspecting, lubricating, repairing, and rebuilding all types of automotive equipment and machinery, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work performed under the fleet supervisor.Minimum Qualifications: Special Requirements:
Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on small engines, cars, trucks, buses and other automotive and power-driven equipment. Includes dismantling, adjusting, overhauling, servicing, troubleshooting and testing electrical systems, machinery, engines, fuel systems, carburetors, distributors, generators, voltage regulators, and other equipment as necessary. Performs road tests and equipment evaluations. Completes builds for new equipment. Fabricates and repairs small items for other departments as necessary. Services and repairs the electrical systems of automotive and/or power-driven equipment. Repairs mechanical compressors and pumps. Performs minor welding and cutting activities. Prepares records, reports and analyzing written or computer data
High school diploma or GED equivalent 1- 3 years’ experience repairing and overhauling a variety of automotive and other power-drive equipment.
Possess ASE Certifications A1-A6 or T2-T6 upon hire. Valid Class “A” Commercial driver’s license within 3 months of hire. Must possess basic tools as required to work on equipment. Valid driver's license in the State of Michigan
