What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Building Inspector position at City of Avon?
The City of Avon is accepting applications for a full-time, State of Ohio Certified, Commercial Building Inspector. Additional State of Ohio electrical or plumbing Inspector certifications preferred.
Duties:
Duties include but are not limited to performing field inspections of commercial buildings for enforcement of state codes, maintaining inspection files and records. The ideal candidate will be required to maintain all building inspector licenses and continue to acquire other licenses necessary to complete the essentials functions of the position. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Chief Building Official.
Qualifications:
State of Ohio Commercial Building Certification
A Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License
Thorough knowledge of State of Ohio Building Codes
Professional interaction with residents and businesses on a daily basis

Salary range is from $79,000 to $83,000 based on experience and qualifications. All other State of Ohio building certifications are encouraged and beneficial.
Successful candidates must pass all pre-employment screenings which include a drug test, driving record review and a BCI background check.
