Do you enjoy tackling a variety of hands-on maintenance and repair projects while helping keep a busy public facility in top condition? The Augusta Civic Center is seeking a part-time Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine building maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general upkeep of our public facility. In this hands-on role, you'll complete general maintenance tasks, assist with event operations, maintain equipment and grounds, respond to maintenance requests, and help ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors. This position requires knowledge of general building maintenance practices, the ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service. Hours Monday through Friday, 8:00AM–1:00PM (25 hours per week)
Requirements High school diploma (or equivalent) and valid Driver’s License required. Two (2) or more years’ experience in facility maintenance, building maintenance, custodial maintenance, construction support, or a related field preferred. Must be available to work evenings, overnight hours (after events), and weekends.
Compensation & Benefits This is a Regular Part-Time, non-exempt hourly position. The pay range for Non Union Range 14 is $26.15 to $35.64 per hour. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $26.15 to $30.01 per hour. Actual rate of pay within the hiring range will depend on experience, qualifications, and available budget. Employees are eligible for annual cost-of-living adjustments (COLA) as well as potential merit-based step increases. This position requires mandatory participation in MainePERS Plan AC (a defined benefit retirement plan); employees in this role do not contribute to Social Security. In addition to retirement benefits, this position earns paid vacation, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays per year. Please note: As a part-time position, this role is not eligible for health, dental, vision, or other insurance benefits.
