Duties
- Operate and control wastewater treatment systems using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, including pumps, valves, tanks, and heavy machinery, performing repairs or maintenance as needed to prevent downtime.
- Collect and analyze data related to water quality parameters, process efficiency, and system performance to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Manage heavy equipment operation such as tankers and construction machinery for system upgrades or maintenance projects.
- Perform basic math calculations for chemical dosing, flow rates, and process adjustments to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues involving plumbing, electrical systems, or instrumentation to minimize operational disruptions.
- Assist in construction projects or system upgrades by supporting installation activities and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain detailed logs of operations, maintenance activities, and data collection records for regulatory reporting and internal review.
Experience
- Prior experience operating wastewater treatment facilities or water treatment plants is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) used in industrial automation.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair, plumbing, and heavy equipment operation.
- Familiarity with chemical handling procedures related to water treatment processes.
- Strong analysis skills for interpreting data from various sensors and instrumentation to optimize plant performance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols during maintenance or construction activities.
