About the Role

This full-time, on-site position in Arlington, TX provides high-level leadership over the City’s development review functions, including pre-development consultation, zoning entitlements, platting, infrastructure review, and permitting. The Assistant Director will guide process efficiency, ensure compliance with city codes and long-range planning goals, and collaborate across departments to support sustainable, high-quality development aligned with City Council priorities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned planning or engineering professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact municipal environment.

Salary Range:

$107,972.20 – $134,965.30

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)

• Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in land development, civil plan review, or development services

• Four (4) years of management or administrative leadership

• AICP or Professional Engineer (P.E.) required

• Experience with Form-Based Code implementation is preferred
