What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pro Shop Assistant - Part-time position at City of Arcadia, FL?
WORK OBJECTIVE
This position is housed at the City Golf Course and reports directly to the Pro Shop Manager.
Under the supervision of the Pro Shop Manager the incumbent performs routine manual labor, mainly consisting of cleaning golf carts, operating ball picker, checking in customers, and stocking and cleaning of Pro Shop building.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma or equivalent. Must have knowledge of basic math skills for the handling of money. One year work experience demonstrating ability to perform the essential functions of the position is preferred. Must have knowledge and ability to perform basic computer skills. Must pass a Level II background check (fingerprints). Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws, policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Follow established Opening and Closing procedures
- Book tee times in the current system
- Maintain cleanliness of facilities and equipment
- Performs all tasks with emphasis on customer service and attention to detail
- Will ensure the safe and proper operation of golf carts
- Show prospective customers the Banquet Room Facilities and make reservations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to understand the functions and operations of the City Golf Course
- Skilled in verbal and written communications, showing the ability to communicate effectively with the general public regarding inquiries concerning the Golf Course
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with supervisors, other city employees, and City officials
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and show discretion
- Knowledge of basic computer skills and the ability to perform same; MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to represent the City in an ethical and professional manner, adhering to company policies and procedures.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Tasks are performed in an indoor and outdoor environment. Due to the nature and location of the work environment, tasks include potential for intermittent exposure to disagreeable elements, e.g., heat, humidity, and inclement weather. Some tasks will include working in and around moving vehicles and associated vehicle equipment areas where heightened awareness to surroundings and observance of established safety precautions is essential to avoid injury or accident.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.80 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 29 per week
