What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skating instructor Lead I or II position at City of Apple Valley?
Perform a variety of duties related to demonstrating and teaching others to skate safely and effectively. Instruct students in our learn-to-skate and skating programs.Work under the direction of the Arena Manager and the Director of Skating.
Teach learn-to-skate and skating classes as required.
Establish up-to-date class and student records.
Ability to be creative/innovative with instruction.
Assist in any office duties as assigned.
Assist with crowd control on and off the ice.
Assist Skating Director in preparing analysis sheet following each session.
Answer questions concerning skating programs as needed.
Assist Skating Director in placing students in proper skill groups.
Test student on completion of each session.Must be 15 years of age or older.
Must have skating experience.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
Supervisory experience preferred.
This opportunity provides ongoing work throughout the year. Spring and Summer Monday evenings. Fall and Winter Monday evenings and Saturday mornings.
This position will work at both Arenas (Wings (Hayes) and Sports Arena)
Starting rate of pay will depend on qualifications and experience.
Offer of employment will be contingent upon successful completing of a criminal check.
