Function
Ankeny's Parks and Recreation Department is looking for youth basketball officials for the 2026-2027 winter season.
Officiate Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball games for both boys and girls, ages 7 to 12years old. Officials will provide leadership and support to promote a fun environment through good sportsmanship and safety for all individuals involved.
Non-certified officials earn $14.25/hour
Certified officials earn $17.25/hour
**Officials will have the opportunity to stay on with Parks & Rec department as a gym supervisor during the fall/winter if desired. **

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Officiate youth games accurately and fairly based on good knowledge of the sport and rules.
- Promote good sportsmanship at all times.
- Ensure a safe environment for all participants during games.
Entry Requirements and Skills
- Basketball knowledge and experience is preferred. Will train officials.
- Must be available on Saturdays, November through February.
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
- Must be at least 14 years of age.
- Must be able to run and be active during games.
- Dependable and reliable.
- Clean and neat appearance.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
