What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician III - Sign Shop position at City of Albert Lea?
The City of Roanoke is seeking a high energy Maintenance Technician III to serve in the Transportation Division of Public Works.
The position participates in the work of a 3 - 5 person crew engaged in a variety of traffic markings and signs in the right of way. Maintains daily/weekly/monthly spreadsheets of all traffic marking related records and reports. Will operate a long line striping truck. Will assist the Traffic Operations Supervisor in scheduling of department work duties. Will also be in charge of creating and closing out work-orders on an asset management database. Will participate in snow removal operations and be subject to be on standby emergency barricade call duty on a rotating basis. Requires experience with Excel and working on computers/IPad, knowledge of the (MUTCD) Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices including a intermediate work zone certification recognized by VDOT. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 to 3 years experience with traffic markings and signs. Must possess a valid Class B CDL driver's license or have the ability to obtain within 6 months.
