What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Transit Center Technician position at City of Albany, Georgia?
The purpose of this classification is to perform routine housekeeping tasks associated with the care and maintenance of City of Albany assigned facilities at various locations and vehicles to include buses.Performs general cleaning/housekeeping tasks associated with interior cleaning and exterior washing of buses and vehicles, checking fluid levels, and replenishing fluid levels.
Maintains materials and supplies.
Responds to emergency requests to clean up bodily fluid spills, or other non bloodborne pathogen spills on the road or at the facility.
Performs routine maintenance and cleaning tasks; cleans bathrooms, replenishes restroom supplies, replace light bulbs, and paint inside and outside of facilities as needed.
Trains, supervises and assigns work of volunteers, part-time employees, inmate labor; ensures adherence to safety standards.
Performs random or routine grounds keeping tasks such as mowing, edging, weeding, mulching, raking, collecting trash, cleaning sidewalks and parking lots, clearing brush and stumps, applying insecticide/herbicide, and performing related tasks; hauls collected trash to the landfill.
Operates a variety of grounds keeping/maintenance equipment such as a blowers, mowers, weed eaters, tillers, trenchers, seeders, shovels, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry tools, and related equipment.
Performs routine maintenance on grounds keeping equipment; performs minor repairs as needed.
Completes reports of landscape/grounds conditions and pest problems to submit to supervisor.
Notifies supervisor of needed tools and supplies.
Completes various inspection forms, correspondence, vehicle maintenance reports, requisition forms, and other documents.
Receives various forms, reports, manuals, or other documentation; reviews, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.
Communicates via telephone and/or two-way radio; provides information and assistance; takes and relays messages and/or directs calls to appropriate personnel; returns calls as necessary.
Responds to routine requests for information or assistance from employees, the public, or other individuals.
Provides accurate, courteous information to public users; assists the elderly and citizens with special needs.
