Water/Sewer Distribution Crewmember
The City of Abbeville is currently accepting applications for a Water/Sewer Distribution
Crew Worker.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Repair and maintenance of water/sewer mains and service connections
- Inspect, maintain, and repair valves, hydrants, meters, and connections.
- Install service lines, main lines, and meters
- Operate a variety of equipment including backhoes, boring equipment, dump trucks, etc.
- Locates lines and trouble shoots leaks
- Cleans sanitary wastewater connections
- Performs necessary landscaping after work to disturbed areas
- Available for on call/weekends/holiday work
- Able to lift 200 pounds, work outdoors in various types or weather and without supervision
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid SC Driver’s License with Good Record
- Will be required to pass tests administered by SC LLR to obtain a Water Distribution License of at least a “C” Level in a timely manner
- Must pass medical and physical assessment including drug screening and a criminal background check
(City of Abbeville employees receive 14 Paid Holidays each year and begin accruing 13 General Leave PTO Days per year with the number of PTO Days accruing annually increasing with tenure.)
