Summary Description
Responsible for the loan review function at full professional level. Reviews individual loan files and evaluates all facets of the loan for the most complex lending relationships. Ensures that lending systems are well-controlled and operating effectively. Monitors and reports on quality-related aspects of the loan portfolio.
Essential Functions
Performs all functions of Loan Review Officer
Contributes to the ongoing review of policies and procedures for the loan review function including scope and methods of review
Has comprehensive knowledge of the Bank's credit policies and procedures and applies then appropriately
Recommends changes in the Bank's Loan Policy and Procedures to address credit risk issues
Evaluates the repayment capacity of loan customers through analysis of complex financial statements
Prepares reports regarding specifics of loans reviewed, movement in assigned ratings, adequacy of any impairment allocations or credit marks and any need for restructuring
Completes special reviews of specific risk as required
Reviews the work of other loan review personnel
Position Requirements
- B.A. or B.S. in related field
- Minimum of four (4) years of credit experience with a commercial bank or a related financial services company, including a working knowledge of current loan review processes, loan classifications, risk management techniques and loan loss reserve analysis
- Thorough knowledge of current bank lending principles, policies and practices
- Demonstrated computer experience. Experience with loan review software preferred.
- Experience in a wide variety of lending areas such as residential and commercial construction, multi-family and commercial real estate, and commercial/business lending
- CPA or CLBB required, or minimum 10 years of loan review experience
- Work is generally performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
- Typically the employee may sit to perform the work. However, there may be some standing, walking, bending and carrying of light items in the course of the work
