Receiver - Full Time Opportunity Available

Receivers are responsible for ensuring that merchandise is received accurately and promptly. This includes scheduling and receiving store merchandise, returning defective merchandise, checking outgoing merchandise, assisting customers in sales and loading and moving merchandise in the receiving area. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• Sorts and segregates materials for proper checking and counting.
• Stores products for future usage. 
• Uses hand truck or pallet jack or carries, pushes or rolls merchandise and materials. 
• Distributes materials and merchandise from receiving or storage area to the sales floor. 
• Stacks materials in the bins, on shelves, or in specified areas. 
• Transfers material from loading platforms and storage spaces. 
• Checks incoming goods against invoices for correct items. 
• Takes partial physical counts and inventories as assigned. 
• Packs, wraps or re-boxes merchandise to protect them from atmospheric conditions and/or for shipment. 
• Wraps merchandise prior to storing and unwraps them upon issuance. 
• Operates a forklift or finger lift. 
• Writes discrepancy reports for all receiving and informs the Inventory Control Supervisor or other assigned management. 
• Works with vendors, sales representatives, freight companies’ merchants and the Distribution Center to resolve receiving problems and discrepancies. 
• Packs and readies paperwork and merchandise leaving the store for delivery or returns to vendors, customers, and the Distribution Center. 
• Gives the Inventory Control Supervisory or assigned personnel all receiving papers and invoices for daily routing and processing. 
• Cleans and maintain storage area floor, storage bags and bins. Organizes the warehouse area for easy access, storage and retrieval. 
• Prepares and puts together customer deliveries. 
• Double checks that picking tickets and sales invoices are properly written and rung into the register by Cashiers for customer deliveries and puts together merchandise for customer deliveries. 
• May assist in servicing customer and performing sales associate functions in the store as needed. 
• Performs other duties as assigned by management. 

 QUALIFICATIONS 

• High school education diploma or equivalent. 
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds. 
• Know and practice proper lifting techniques 
• Communicate and maintain employee safety and security standards 
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines 
• Basic computer skills 
• Ability to work well with others, self-motivated and capable of working independently with little supervision. 
• Previous forklift experience preferred.
