Role Description The Account Executive role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sandy, UT. The Account Executive will manage advertising sales for City Journals and Value Pages, including prospecting local businesses, qualifying leads, and conducting in-person and phone meetings to present advertising solutions. This role includes preparing proposals, negotiating rates, closing sales, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure accurate ad placement and timely publication. The Account Executive will maintain ongoing relationships with clients, provide account support, and identify opportunities for renewals, upsells, and long-term partnerships. Day-to-day responsibilities also include tracking sales activity, meeting revenue targets, attending local events or meetings as needed, and representing City Journals professionally within the community.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in sales prospecting, lead generation, and relationship-building with local businesses.
- Experience in account management, including client communication, proposal development, and contract negotiation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including confident presentation abilities and professional email/phone etiquette.
- Basic understanding of advertising or media sales, with the ability to learn community-focused print and digital advertising products.
- Comfort with using CRM tools or spreadsheets to track sales activity, opportunities, and client information.
- Ability to work collaboratively with editorial, production, and administrative teams in an on-site environment.
- High level of integrity, customer-focus, and commitment to supporting community-based journalism.
- Previous sales or customer-facing experience is preferred; background in media, advertising, or local business outreach is a plus.
Pay: $72,000-76,000 with upward mobility
