City Garden School is a private K-8 school serving more than 100 students. We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and collaborative Primary Grade School Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive team at our Waldorf-inspired school, where we nurture academic excellence, creativity, and holistic development. The ideal candidate will embrace the values of Waldorf education and have a love for teaching middle school students in a dynamic, outdoor-focused, arts-integrated environment.
Position Requirements:
Collaborative Team Player: Must work well within a cooperative team of educators, parents, and students.
Certified to Teach in Missouri: Valid teaching certification (or willingness to secure certification by start of school year) for the state of Missouri required.
Waldorf Experience: While previous Waldorf experience is preferred, it is not required. We are willing to support professional development.
Outdoor Education Enthusiast: Must embrace outdoor learning and support an outdoor education program, including integrating curriculum in indoor and outdoor classroom settings, experiential learning, and environmental stewardship.
Commitment to Student Growth: Passion for developing students academically, socially, and emotionally in alignment with Waldorf principles.
Understanding of Child Development: Understanding of whole child development and appropriate instructional strategies for primary age children and early literacy and maths instruction.
Responsibilities:
Teach a full-time primary grades Waldorf-inspired curriculum that integrates the arts, sciences, mathematics, humanities, and physical education.
Incorporate outdoor education and nature-based learning into the curriculum.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students can explore their creativity and develop critical thinking skills.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a well-rounded and interdisciplinary educational experience.
Engage with parents and families to ensure the academic and personal growth of students.
