What are the responsibilities and job description for the Institutional Driver position at City Fresh Foods?
Primary Responsibilities:
- Checks packaged meals and labeled bags against the delivery slip.
- Conducts food temperature checks as requested
- Call dispatch for instructions if there is no answer at the delivery site
- Reports immediately the inability to reach a participant, by calling dispatch
- Follows professional and company/agency standards for client confidentiality
- Attends appropriate training sessions as required by City Fresh Foods Policy
- Maintain safety and care in operation of a delivery vehicle
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Mass driver’s license required
- Must have a clean driving record
- Ability to read and speak English required
- Bilingual – Proficient in English and Spanish or Cape Verdean desired
- On your feet for extended periods of time
- Ability to enter and exit vehicle multiple times a day
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Follow CFF protocols and guidelines
- Company vehicle provided if Institutional driver (HDM drivers may use own vehicle)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrate good communication skills
- Ability to carry out instructions
- Relate in a positive manner to agency staff and the elderly population served
- Time management skills desired
- CDL not required but would be welcomed
