Kennedy-King College is seeking a full-time Computer Lab Manager. The Computer Lab Manager is primarily responsible for supporting students, faculty and staff in the use of computer hardware and software in computer lab settings.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides students, faculty and staff with support for technology in computer labs, and assists with tutoring technology requirements.
- Works with administrative and academic staff to identify, maintain, install and test software applications for the open and instructional computer labs. Coordinates and schedules computer software implementation with academic departments.
- Responsible for the protection of physical technology assets; conducts inventory management function for IT assets; secures classrooms and labs containing technical equipment.
- Performs ongoing equipment refresh; plans, manages and performs maintenance, installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting of hardware/software in computer labs.
- Analyzes, creates and submits incidents for technology related issues to the help desk.
- Trains and schedules computer lab assistants/technicians and work-study student employees as required.
- Assists with other college initiatives, such as, but not limited to, student registration, as needed.
- Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
- Performs other related duties as needed, including, but not limited to, adherence to after hours, emergency, holiday, and/or on-call schedule.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related area supplemented by three to five years of experience in IT, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to lead and direct others.
- Experience in the use and support of instructional technology preferred.
- Strong background in computer applications and operating systems, including Windows products.
- Sound verbal and written communication skills.
- Great team player and self-starter.
- Must be available to work evenings & weekends.
- Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
