Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Bus Driver role based in Alexandria, VA. The Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating company buses on scheduled routes and charter services, following all traffic laws and company policies. Day-to-day tasks include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, managing passenger boarding and seating, and maintaining a clean and orderly vehicle. The role involves providing courteous customer service, assisting passengers as needed, handling basic inquiries, and communicating effectively with dispatch and supervisors. The Bus Driver is expected to keep accurate logs, report any incidents or mechanical issues promptly, and consistently uphold safety and service standards.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Bus and Truck Driving, with a focus on safe and efficient operation of large commercial vehicles.
- Proficiency in Defensive Driving practices and Driver Training principles to support safety and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated Customer Service skills, including clear communication, professionalism, and a courteous approach to passengers.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport, and a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of local and federal transportation regulations, including hours-of-service and safety requirements.
