Head Barista / Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic early morning and dedicated Head Barista / Manager to lead our vibrant cafe team and deliver exceptional customer experiences. In this role, you will wear two hats: a strategic leader behind the scenes and a master Barista at the cafe bar. You will oversee daily operations, manage staff, ensure quality , safety standards and create a welcoming environment for guests. Your leadership will drive the success of the cafe by fostering teamwork, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring efficient enjoyable beverages . This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine your skills of blending hot or cold drinks. Showing the passion held and the various fusions of expertise in a fast-paced hi- volume takeout restaurant cafe setting.

Responsibilities

• Preparing for the daily cafe operations, starting at 5:00 am, getting espresso machines setup and dialed in, ensuring bar and cases are set up in preparation before that morning rush hits and thriving to get the team setup for success including , maintain a service flow, and cleanliness to ensure smooth functioning.
• Lead staff training and development, including onboarding new team members and providing ongoing coaching for barista staff and customer service with safety protocols.
• Manage inventory control processes, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste through effective management practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations to maintain a safe environment for both staff and guests.
• Handle shift management by scheduling staff efficiently to meet customer demand during peak hours while controlling labor costs.
• Foster a positive team environment through effective supervision, performance evaluations, and promoting a culture of hospitality excellence.

Requirements

• Proven experience in barista service management .
• Established Food & Safety documents such as Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate or ServSafe Managers
• Some former experience as supervisor or manager along with a minimum of 1 yr Barista experience
• Demonstrated supervisory skills with experience in staff training, team management, and interviewing prospective employees.
• Knowledgable of inventory control, food safety standards, and food handling procedures aligned with industry best practices.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
• Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork, motivate staff, and promote a positive hospitality environment.
• Ability to manage shift schedules effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
