The Department of Environmental Services, Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Division, is hiring for four (4) Wastewater Heavy Truck Driver positions at various locations around Oahu. The Wastewater Heavy Truck Driver operates equipment such as dump trucks, tank trucks, forklifts, or tractors/trailers. This position is responsible for performing minor maintenance on all mobile equipment; performing unskilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment at wastewater treatment plants.
What You'll Do
- Haul treatment plant screenings, grit, and by-product processes solids to designated disposal areas.
- Lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work on mobile equipment.
- Drive a motor vehicle to transport men, equipment, materials, supplies, and waste material.
- May occasionally be exposed to active machinery, high voltages, depths and heights, toxic and explosive gasses, pressure fluid systems, and disease-bearing wastewater. May work in obnoxious, and filthy and hazardous environments.
- Position is required to be "on-call" during critical/emergency situations.
- Will serve as a Disaster Response Worker during declared civil defense emergencies.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in the operation of heavy trucks.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a current, valid commercial driver's license (CDL), Class A, and a current State Department of Transportation medical examination certificate, at the time of application.
Verification Requirement: You must submit evidence of your CDL Class A license (front and back) and DOT medical examination certificate with the expiration dates visible to verify you meet the license and certificate requirements.
