Experience Requirement
Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in the operation of a loader and heavy trucks.
Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of the uses, methods of operation and capacities of motorized equipment representative of the class; hazards and safety precautions applicable to the operation of a loader, backhoe, crane and heavy truck; and the ability to operate and maintain a loader, backhoe, crane and heavy truck skillfully and safely.

What You Will Do
- Operate and maintain a loader (with various sized buckets), backhoe, and excavator (various sizes with thumb attachment), at the Refuse Transfer Station and other City and County of Honolulu disposal sites.
- Operate and maintain a stationary knuckle boom crane above the tipping floor hopper to distribute and tamp refuse in the open-top transfer trailers.
- Sort out bulky items and other refuse items (prohibited items or items that could damage trailer) by pushing these refuse items to the side of the storage pit.
- Drive tractor trailer (80,000 GVW) with refuse waste to designated disposal sites.
- Haul equipment and/or material with a lowboy trailer.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities of the position.
