The Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS), Capital Projects Division, is recruiting for one (1) Mechanical Engineer IV position located in Honolulu.
What You Will Do
- Plan and coordinate construction procedures and activities of major and complex construction projects with City and County, State, utility companies, engineering firms, contractors, and the public.
- Coordinate and make presentations to government agencies and community groups on the scopes of work and schedules of construction projects.
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of work progress and cost reports for complex and major construction projects.
- This position may require walking through, climbing over and crawling under structures with occasional lifting and exertion for short periods. The incumbent may have to walk on uneven terrain, climb ladders, scaffolding and stairs. This person must wear a hard hat and is required to adhere to other safety requirements while on the construction site. Work involves exposure to the various weather conditions.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three years of non-registered professional mechanical engineering experience.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
- Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license, as required. The current vacancy requires a Type 3 driver's license.
- Possession of a valid license as a professional mechanical engineer in the State of Hawaii.
NOTE: Applicants with a current out-of-state professional mechanical engineer license must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment.
