The Department of Transportation Services is looking for a Maintenance Management Information Systems Specialist (Planner VI) to oversee the development and implementation of the Maintenance Management Information System (MMIS) for rail including the design, business rules, data requirements, access, privileges, and business processes.
What You Will Do:
- Oversee MMIS process improvements.
- Ensure the MMIS provides users with access to incident tracking, asset tracking, service request and work order tracking, maintenance planning, inventory, purchasing, warranty claims, key performance indicators, and reports.
- Review project and program material requirements, analyze current inventory levels and recommend additional ordering quantities and appropriate delivery schedules.
- Ensure the Contractor is fully utilizing the MMIS, implementing new patches and versions, addressing MMIS issues, and making sure the system operates with resilience.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities of the position.

Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in information systems, public or business administration, or related field.
Substitution: Work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor's degree.
For example:
1. Four (4) years of professional work experience, in any occupation, may substitute for a general bachelor's degree.
2. Four (4) years of general work experience (does not need to be professional level experience) in maintenance management information system and inventory control work may substitute for a general bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Four years of experience performing Maintenance Management Information System and inventory control work as a primary function, two of which must have been in a large public or private transportation organization.
Applicable Skills Needed
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems (MMIS), transportation, inventory management, and procurement operations.
- Ability to analyze, maintain, and process records, reports, and data using computerized management systems and software tools.
- Strong understanding of administrative management practices, methods, and procedures related to maintenance and inventory programs.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies governing inventory management, purchasing, and records management.
- Ability to organize, coordinate, and improve operational processes while ensuring accurate documentation and efficient system performance.
Salary : $6,535 - $7,485
