Job responsibilities include:
- Providing daily care to the horses
- Monitor the health of the horses, notifying medical personnel regarding any issues
- Administration of health care procedures prescribed by a veterinarian
- Observe all common safety practices associated with the care and maintenance of horses
- Maintenance of facilities and horse stables
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment by disposing horse manure from horse stalls
- Orders and stocks necessary items and supply for maintenance of horses and facilities
- Performs minor repairs and maintenance on transportation equipment for horses
- Performs general clerical functions
- Transporting and delivering equipment
The ideal candidate will have:
- Familiarity with horses’ common behavior
- Knowledge in performing diagnostic procedures for horses
- Passion for the safety and wellbeing of horses
- General mechanical aptitude
- Problem solving ability
- Dependability and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills and basic typing skills
- A positive attitude
- Sound judgement
- Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
- Experience Requirement: One (1) year of experience working with horses and related facilities and equipment.
- Education/Experience Equivalency: None
- License/Certifications: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
