What You’ll Do
Denver Parks & Recreation is seeking a Business Operations Administrator to provide professional coordination of administrative & operational programs and functions for the recreation division. This individual will provide high-level administrative support to the Recreation Administration team and act as a liaison to facilitate communication between recreation centers, program areas, other DPR divisions, external partners, and community groups.

What You’ll Do
Denver Parks & Recreation is seeking a Business Operations Administrator to provide professional coordination of administrative & operational programs and functions for the recreation division. This individual will provide high-level administrative support to the Recreation Administration team and act as a liaison to facilitate communication between recreation centers, program areas, other DPR divisions, external partners, and community groups.
Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provides comprehensive front-facing administrative and operational support for the recreation administration office, serving as a strategic liaison facilitating effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and customer service excellence across multiple channels.
- Develops, implements, and manages internal and external communication systems in collaboration with recreation supervisors, recreation administration, and the marketing and communications team. Provides technical support and oversight to ensure clear, consistent, and effective department-wide messaging, including management of digital message boards.
- Coordinates and administers the strategic oversight of the recreation division’s financial assistance and discount programs, ensuring equitable access by periodically reviewing and improving forms and program processes, conducting frontline staff training, overseeing secure application processing, collaborating across departments, monitoring compliance, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and program standards.
- Manages the end-to-end administration and optimization of the recreation division’s customer experience & feedback programs, including the development and maintenance of survey instruments, workflow and process refinement, data quality monitoring, analysis and interpretation of results, and coordination of reporting and insight distribution to all levels of leadership to inform operational improvements and strategic planning.
- Reviews, verifies, and reconciles procurement transactions such as purchasing card activity, requisitions, purchase orders, and change orders, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with CCD Finance policies. Communicates with internal staff as needed to research and resolve discrepancies and ensure timely processing and documentation.
- Manages and coordinates requests, complaints, and inquiries, including those of a complex, escalated, or sensitive nature, performing case assessment, prioritization, and follow-up across multiple stakeholders and departments to ensure effective resolution and service continuity. Applies sound judgment in navigating competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of business practices, procedures, and workflow systems to identify optimization opportunities, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to design and recommend process improvements that increase operational efficiency, improve service quality, and support the strategic effectiveness of recreation operations.
